This may sound obvious on some levels but it's not, really....it's a fine balance to learn how to be open but discerning and perhaps comes down to knowing ourselves and being honest with ourselves. How many of us actually really know what we want and need. Sometimes we don't, and sometimes we're lucky and he or she just comes along but knowing yourself and being realistic about what you really want/need is a good starting point. Also by getting to know yourself better and being comfortable with yourself being alone is not neccessarily a problem. You need to be OK with being alone before you can really be with someone else anyway I think.
Thanks for an interesting post. Made me think!
